Mr. Smith has over 40 years of operating experience in the energy industry. During the first 20 years of his career, Mr. Smith was involved in various aspects of the steam/boiler industry and held a variety of positions at a number of operating facilities. He holds an Ontario Second Class Stationary Engineer certificate, is qualified under the Canadian Competency for Boiler Inspection Examinations and holds Gas Fitter 1 certificate in both Manitoba and Ontario. For the 20 most recent years of his career, Mr. Smith has been directly involved in the natural gas industry, specifically gas transmission.
Mr. Smith joined the ICG Gas Company in 1991 as a Gas Measurement Technician. During that time, he was promoted to Transmission Technical Supervisor and assumed responsibility for the field operation and maintenance of the Centra Gas Transmission Pipeline System. Mr. Smith joined Energy Fundamentals Group in 2003 and assumed his current role as Manager of Field Operations responsible for all field personnel and management of all operating and maintenance activities relating to the pipeline system. Mr. Smith is actively involved in the planning, management and execution of all major maintenance projects and successfully oversaw the first in-line inspection conducted on the pipeline system since its installation. Mr. Smith resides in Rainy River, Ontario with his wife Darlene and works out of the company’s Rainy River field office. |
